Shares of the electric car manufacturer Tesla rose 14.75% at the close of trading on the New York Stock Exchange after Donald Trump’s victory in the United States presidential election.
The shares of the firm co-founded by billionaire Elon Musk stood at $288.53, according to figures from the Investing.com site. It was the biggest advance since October 24.
Musk supported Trump’s election campaign with more than $130 million, according to Bloomberg data.
As Trump’s victory loomed yesterday, Musk wrote on his social network X: “The future will be fantastic.”
The SpaceX owner’s message was accompanied by an image of the company’s Starship rocket taking off from a launch tower.
The 53-year-old businessman of South African origin is one of Trump’s most loyal supporters and has completely thrown himself into supporting the MAGA movement (acronym for ‘Make America Great Again’).
This Wednesday, Musk published the message: “It’s morning again in the United States.” And he accompanied it with an image of him saluting the United States flag.
