The homes of a late oil tycoon, an ex-Google director, a local tech mogul and a biotech founder — all in Dallas’ wealthiest neighborhoods — are among the most-expensive listings in Texas this month.
The top-10 asking prices for homes listed in October added up to more than $236 million, according to the Houston Association of Realtors. That made it the priciest top-10 so far this year. March’s list came close to that total with $234 million.
Among the top listings are late Texas oil tycoon Cary Maquire’s Preston Hollow home at 4606 Park Lane, which was relisted for $28.5 million after hitting the market last month.
A spec mansion developed by the former Google director, Jon Venverloh, spans 10,500 square feet and is asking $26 million, or $2,500 per square foot. The home, at 6901 Hunters Glen Road in University Park, was built by Venverloh’s firm Venus Development Group, which he launched just before retiring from Google in 2019.
It features a nearly 1-acre lot, infinity-edge pool and reclaimed tile roof. Chad Barrett with Allie Beth Allman has the listing.
Dallas businessman Larry Lacerte, founder of tech company ExponentHR, is asking $35 million, or $1,708 per square foot, for his home at 3711 Lexington Avenue in Highland Park. The greenbelt-adjacent home spans 20,500 square feet with a guest apartment and a natatorium-equipped fitness center.
The home relisted after hitting the market in March for $35.6 million. Ralph Randall with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Real Estate has the listing.
Panda Biotech founder Bob Carter is asking $12.9 million for a 14,700-square-foot home at 10617 Bridge Hollow Court in Preston Hollow. That’s $880 per square foot for the six-bedroom, 10-bathroom home.
Compass Real Estate’s Julie Provenanzo has the listing. The property listed briefly in September for the same price but was removed.
But the most-expensive listing in October was in Houston, Colleen Romanov’s 22,000-square-foot estate, asking $60 million, or $2,727 per square foot.
The palatial compound is at 107 Timberwilde Lane, just across Buffalo Bayou from the Houston Country Club. It sits on 9 acres and is modeled after English estates and Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California. The property listed in 2022 for $60 million, bumped up to $65 million in 2023, and dropped to $50 million before delisting. Coldwell Banker’s Carol Wolfe has the listing.
