In Mexico there are around 55,400 bakeries, which for this season will produce 9,400 tons of Rosca de Reyes, the businessman recalled.
“Not all bakeries make Rosca de Reyes, since some are dedicated to making wheat tortillas occasionally in the north of the Republic, especially 10 thousand establishments,” he commented.
“It is an iconic product for the Mexican family, the Mexican bakery and for 45 thousand bakeries. And we consider that this year we are going to make 9 million 845 thousand kilograms of Rosca de Reyes,” he said.
He recalled that the average price per kilogram of Rosca de Reyes is around 300 to 320 pesos, but there are threads of higher and lower value.
The Rosca de Reyes is a tasty, delicious celebration and it is not expensive, so people can have 1, 2 or 3 celebrations of the holiday: “You can break a Rosca de Reyes with my mother and another with my mother-in-law, another at home, another at the factory, at school and even in the Mayor’s Office and neighborhood.”
The party of the Rosca de Reyes is not a party that costs 500 pesos per person, but “it costs between 20 pesos and 30 pesos,” said the business representative.

Currently, the chain is the livelihood of 4 million Mexicans.
