The resplendent view of Es Vedra from the coast of Ibiza is powerful and serene. Just at that moment, Maria Yatriki crosses the green garden with her characteristic smile, a sophisticated snake tattoo running along her right arm. Welcome attendees to your Sacbe meeting on the Spanish island with warmth and joy. A pleasant experience awaits you.

The next seven days of exquisitely curated feminine vibes were filled with intelligent speeches, wellness activities, spiritual practices and extraordinary musical performances held under a large tent filled with rugs and cushions. This is their project, one that aims to promote the expansion of consciousness and connection to self within a community of talented and curious souls. Their events draw on local indigenous wisdom while incorporating modern wellness practices and conscious celebration.

To understand his journey, one has to know his heritage and life experiences.

Coming from a prominent ranching family in Tlaxcala, Mexico, María’s parents made their careers as public officials. This circumstance, along with her life on the ranch, gave her great leadership skills as well as a deep connection with nature. As a teenager, he introduced his family to a permaculture expert to improve land quality. She also became a practicing Buddhist at an early age and maintains a consistent meditation practice to this day.

She later studied cinematography, was married to an internationally famous DJ and toured the world for several years. He became involved with the elite of the electronic music world and now uses that knowledge – and the many loyal friendships that accompanied him – to enrich his retreats with his music. His production experience also serves him well, allowing him to build a perfect balance between intimacy, quality and growth in his retreats in Colombia, Bali, Costa Rica, the United States, Spain and his native Mexico. He frequently makes connections with leaders of indigenous populations in order to curate genuine, deep experiences with a cultural dimension.

For the past 8 years she has trained in the Mexica spiritual tradition, participating in the moon dance each spring. This has deepened their understanding and appreciation for the value that spiritual practices can offer within a community. This is why at Sacbe events, Maria draws on indigenous practices, somatic work, tantra and more, creating a spiritual vessel and safe space that facilitates the creation of deep connections.

A typical day includes meditation and yoga in the morning, followed by breakfast roundtables where participants share their own projects and skills. Afterwards, people come to listen to the speakers’ talks and participate in the workshops after another thoughtfully prepared meal. The evenings are marked by unique musical journeys and barefoot dances. The goal is for the meeting to be non-religious while meeting the spiritual, intellectual and even emotional needs of the participants within a strong community spirit.

Maria’s holistic style emphasizes the principles of feminine leadership by being based on trust and rejecting hierarchies. He wants participants to sculpt their talks, workshops, after-dinner sessions, and musical numbers to their liking, as opposed to micromanaging the product to achieve their vision. This, he says, allows for greater empowerment and more authenticity, achieving unexpected positive results.

Talking to María it is clear that this has been her life trajectory from day one. A path (Sacbe means white path) he created to help humanity lean towards its virtues as well as reach a higher state of daily consciousness, while promoting a balanced and immersive relationship with nature.

In times when our lives are disrupted by digital and industrial tools in a constant process of disposal, their mission is a grateful respite that breathes new life into the idea that we are more than our creations and achievements, that we are conscious human beings. of ourselves and that this is, in itself, an existence that deserves to be explored.
