The Emir Catarí, Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, described on Wednesday the US president, Donald Trump, during a meeting in Doha as a “man of peace” and wished that during his mandate he manages to bring concord to the Region of the Middle East.

“We are very excited. Lord president, I have known him for many years. I know he is a man of peace. I know he wants to bring peace to this region. We all want it. I hope this time we can do the right thing and bring peace to the region,” he said during his meeting with the American tycoon.

Trump responded affirmatively, while assuring he hopes to get peace but “not only here.”

“I know you are very involved helping us in other regions, as in what is happening with Russia and Ukraine, etc.

Catar is one of the mediators with the United States and Egypt to find a solution to the war in the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, during the meeting, the EMIR indicated that they will discuss “many things” within the framework of the “great bilateral relationship” they have, “either in investment, energy, military cooperation and security too.”

He mentioned how Catar was host of the 2022 Soccer World Cup, an event in which “there was not a single incident,” to which the US president, a country who will host the 2026 World Cup together with Canada and Mexico, replied: “You did a great job.”

Trump also had time to stay amazed by the architecture of the palace where they met: “The work they have done is insurmountable. Look at this, it is beautiful. As a builder, I see perfect marble. This is what they call ‘perfect’.”

Nor did he forget the camels he saw when he arrived, since he said that he had not seen “camel like that.”

Catar is Trump’s second stop on his Middle East tour, after visiting Saudi Arabia, where he signed the largest defense agreement in the country’s history, for 142,000 million dollars.

In Doha, the US president plans to accept a Boeing 747-800 as a gift from the Catarí Royal Family and use it as Air Force One, the official presidential plane, American media indicated last Sunday.
