Rocío Nahle García, governor of Veracruz, assured that the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador was the one that fought the most against the fiscal huachicol, since they suspended more than 1,300 import permits that did not register income to the Tax Administration Service (SAT).

“If anyone fought huachicol in all its forms, it was Andrés Manuel López Obrador and today our President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum, is doing so,” said the president within the framework of the XXIX Annual Congress of Shipping Agents, organized by Amanac.

According to the former Secretary of Energy, the detection of the fiscal huachicol and the theft of fuel from the Petróleos Mexicanos pipelines was not difficult to detect in the administration of Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

“Former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador from the first moment and since December 2018 gave instructions to combat the huachicol through the pipelines and the fiscal huachicol,” recalled the official, who boasted the logistics used to transport equipment from South Korea to Mexico for the construction of the Dos Bocas refinery.

The first action to stop the fiscal huachicol of the Andrés Manuel López government was to eliminate 1,300 import permits, “which were held without having reported income to the Tax Administration Service (SAT),” said Rocío Nahle García.

The fuel import permits were given between 2014 and 2018, after the energy reform of the PRI, PAN and PRD was approved under the Pact for Mexico, said the governor of Veracruz.

“Those 1,300 permits were given during the government of President Peña Nieto and that is the fiscal huachicol,” he stated.

Under President López Obrador, no permits were given, so of the “1,377 permits given in Enrique Peña Nieto’s government, only 37 permits remained, with this a balance sheet was made,” he highlighted.

The president acknowledged that the authorities take care of customs, borders and the energy balance every day.
