The former US president Joe Biden was diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer that has made bone metastases, and he and his family are evaluating doctors treatment options, according to his office in a statement on Sunday.
Biden was diagnosed on Friday after experiencing urinary symptoms, according to the statement.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, cancer seems to be sensitive to hormones, allowing effective management,” said his office.
Biden’s presidential mandate ended on January 20, when Donald Trump lent oath.
