EFE.- The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is open to dialogue on the settlement of the war in Ukraine, but has not received concrete proposals from Western leaders, the Kremlin declared today.

“Putin has repeatedly said that he remains open to communicate, to talk,” said the spokesman for the Russian presidency, Dmitri Peskov, in statements to the TASS agency.

He admitted that dialogue will not be easy, but noted that “in one way or another, all wars end at the negotiating table.”

At the same time, Peskov responded negatively to the question about whether Western capitals, such as Washington or Berlin, have so far requested talks with Russia.

The Kremlin spokesman thus commented on statements by the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, about his willingness to dialogue with the Russian president.

Scholz’s spokesman, Steffen Hebestreit, reiterated last week that the German chancellor has always been willing to talk, but at the moment there is no call planned or arranged.
