Everything indicates that Senator Adam Augusto López Hernández chose to resist the storm that came over him since it was learned that who was his Secretary of Security, when he ruled Tabasco, is a fugitive and point him as leader of the criminal gang of the Barredora.
Hernán Bermúdez collected an enormous experience in police tasks, worked with various governments and that led him to the highest positions.
Like other controls, Bermúdez, according to the accusations so far known, not only agreed with the criminals, but allegedly became the centerpiece of a rinse in which the traffic of people, the extortion and control of the illegal markets in Tabasco became mixed.
The blow to López Hernández is strong because it was enhanced in the narrative, built by its own party, that the headlines of the executive powers have to know about the behavior of their high subordinates.
That is, just as President Felipe Calderón had to be aware of the adventures of Genaro García Luna, the Tabasco governor should know the bad steps in which Bermúdez was.
Things are more complicated, of course, but perceptions, and especially negatives, end up rooting in uncertainty.
Another characteristic of the crisis that López Hernández faces is that it does not come from the external field, it was not unleashed by opposition complaints, or by foreign agencies, but by specific investigations made by the State Prosecutor’s Office and encouraged by the current Governor Javier May against Bermúdez himself and whose expansive waves reached the current coordinator of Morena in the Senate.
During the last days it was speculated on the future of those who also served as Secretary of the Interior in the past administration and one of the hypotheses was that it could be done next to the senatorial leadership.
Nothing indicates that this will happen, especially since no one who can be asked. Even at the MORENA meeting this Sunday, he received a boost, warm, it is true, but with that he reaches at the moment.
López Hernández and his party will assume the political cost that emerges from that determination. If it is much or little, it will be known based on what happens in research on Bermúdez.
But López Hernández is touched and will be difficult for him to recover. His bonds are not the same as just a few months ago, and his margin of action will be reduced.
Perhaps because of these considerations, the senator has made it very clear that he is dedicated to the political operation and the tasks that are responsible, including those of the qualified majority that makes it possible for the 4T initiatives to be approved.
Indeed, the agreements, more than questionable, that gave way to the reform of the Judiciary and do not want to risk changing the numbers before the electoral initiatives.
Although there is no applause anymore, all the incentives of the case are maintained, because no one knows about the resources, tricks and magic that may be required in the coming months.
