The Real Deal’s 2025 NYC Forum Agenda

As a new economic cycle begins, New York’s dealmakers are eager to get going again. But amid foreclosures, devalued assets, and widespread market uncertainty, the path forward is increasingly unclear.

On one hand, green shoots have appeared in the office market. But challenges persist for Class B and C offices, and office-to-residential conversions can prove tricky. The residential market, meanwhile, has experienced “whiplash,” with the lack of inventory and higher-for-longer rates keeping the market down.

That’s why we’re thrilled to be back at Metropolitan Pavilion in Midtown on May 7, where we’ll bring some of the industry’s top names to the stage for our annual NYC Forum. The doors open at 10 a.m. and programming kicks off at 11 a.m, starting with a fireside chat from Steve and Alex Witkoff.

Steve Witkoff founded Witkoff Group, the multi-billion-dollar family business responsible for 11 million square feet of commercial and retail real estate and an ownership interest in over 7,500 apartments – but now, while he attempts to negotiate peace in the Middle East, son Alex has taken the reins.

Throughout the day, TRD’s forum will break down the market, from drilling down into the next hot neighborhoods for residential development to sussing out signs of spring renewal for the office market. We’ll take a look at to what the mayoral race might have in store for real estate, hear from top tech entrepreneurs, and more.

Notable names stepping onto the stage include Bilt Reward’s Ankur Jain, MetroLoft’s Nathan Berman, CBRE’s Mary Ann Tighe, developer Don Peebles, John Santora of WeWork, and the star of Netflix’s “Selling the City”, Elliman’s Eleonora Srugo.

Also joining the main stage this year is boxing legend-turned-real estate investor Floyd Mayweather, Jr., along with Ayal Frist, the CEO of Mayweather’s investment firm VADA Properties. The session will dive deep into Mayweather’s buzzy NYC acquisitions and his strategy as an investor.

New this year is the Power Breakfast event with Serhant’s Ryan Serhant and the cast of “Owning Manhattan” before the opening of the event. This “Ask Me Anything” style breakfast will be a candid and informal opportunity to interact with the head and agents of one of the hottest brokerages in NYC.

Additional speakers at the Forum include Andrew Yang of the Forward Party, Richard Coles of Vanbarton, Compass’ Leonard Steinberg, Marc Norman of NYU’s Schack Institute, and more. It’s all happening Wednesday, May 7. Make sure to get your tickets today.
