Like every year that begins, the SEP calendar and the Federal Labor Law (LFT) publish the official days of rest and long weekends for both students and workers in the country, it is worth noting that in 2025 there will be two fewer days of holiday, this is because there will be no presidential elections and therefore October 1st will not be a holiday nor will voting day itself
Here we leave you the established dates of official holidays
Monday February 3: Anniversary of the 1917 Constitution, which is the first long weekend of the year.
Tuesday March 18: Birth of Benito Juárez in commemoration of March 21, this is the second long weekend of 2024.
Thursday, May 1: International Workers’ Day. This is the third bridge of the year and the last official one in the first half of 2024.
Tuesday, September 16: Independence Day coincides with the beginning of the week, making it the fourth long weekend of the year.
Monday, November 17: Day of the Mexican Revolution, fifth long weekend of 2024 and last before the end of the year festivities.
Thursday, December 25: Christmas. Last mandatory holiday of rest in 2024.
These official holidays are considered in the Federal Labor Law as days of mandatory rest, so workers who carry out work on these days must receive the salary that corresponds to the day plus a double salary.
