Until a few weeks ago, Daniel Enriquez served as national sales and marketing manager for Indian Motorcycle Mexico; Axel Vázquez accompanied him as Retail Experience Manager; and Héctor Mañón, as Marketing Manager.
In their positions at the national level, and operating together, these three executives achieved five years of growth in Indian Motorcycle in Mexico.
The achievement was recently recognized with promotions: Enriquez was named Regional Manager of Indian Motorcycle for the Southeastern United States and Latin America; while Vázquez and Mañón were appointed to accompany him in Latam Sales and Marketing.
Column: The power of the circle: An ancient phenomenon for modern leadership
Indian Motorcycle has a global presence, and leaders in dozens of countries. To lead a region, the company’s global management could choose between talent from Europe, Africa or Asia; Without going any further, he was also able to choose between the heads he has on the continent. But the Mexican team registers growth rates of 10% in its sales, and that achievement was a flash that was difficult to ignore and possibly decisive.
The three Mexicans thus assumed their new regional positions since last October. And since you have to learn from good things, we found out the formula for your success.
This is how they managed to put Mexico on high
When asking how 3 executives showed off a kind of “Mexican power” that led them to obtain regional positions, and demonstrate that Mexico is a generator of talent, Daniel Enriquez explained that everything is due to a formula resolved with a great support team.
“What has allowed us to gain the trust to be assigned regional positions was, on principle, teamwork. But not cliché teamwork; I really work as a team, sharing what we are doing, how we are doing it, sharing ideas every day,” he said in an interview.
The Mexican operations, finance, and administrative teams are all aware of what the managers in charge of sales require, he added.
And above all, he shared, in Indian’s team in Mexico there is also a great listening for new ideas that he describes as crazy.
“While testing, we realized that many ideas are indeed crazy, but among those crazy ideas we found a couple of very good recipes to be able to increase sales,” shared Enriquez.
Also, he added, it was essential to make mistakes.
“A team that does not make mistakes means that it is not going beyond the activities that correspond to each one,” he stated.
The “Mexican power” for Latin America
At the head of the region, and to continue highlighting Mexico’s talent, the 3 Mexicans at the head of Indian Motorcycle Latin America already have clear objectives to achieve.
Indian Motorcycle must consolidate in Latin America, and must show growth in Argentina, Chile, and Puerto Rico, where the brand already has a relevant presence. In Colombia, the brand will be relaunched.
In Mexico, we will seek to maintain the double-digit growth trend.
And in the United States, in the southwest area that they are in charge of, the objective is to maintain the leadership that the brand already has in medium-displacement motorcycles, and make those with larger displacement stand out.
