Four Mexican citizens were accused of their alleged participation in the undocumented traffic to the United States through the Canadian border, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) reported Friday (DOJ) (in English)
Edgar Sánchez-Solís, 23 years old; Ignacio Díaz-Pérez, 35 years old; Samuel Díaz-Pérez, 26; and Salvador Díaz-Díaz, 32, were formally accused of about 35 positions, including conspiracy to introduce foreigners to the United States.
In a statement, the DOJ explained that all the defendants were undocumented in the US; and also that, Díaz-Pérez and Salvador Díaz-Díaz had previously been deported.
“As they alleged, these defendants entered this country illegally and then tried to smuggle hundreds of foreigners every week to the United States from Mexico, Central America and South America through the border with Canada,” Matthew R. Galeotti, head of the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice, said in a statement.

The four Mexicans conspired with other accomplices to smuggle hundreds of immigrants to the north of the state of New York, in the counties of Franklin and Clinton, according to the accusation.
The Mexicans allegedly instructed the undocumented to record testimonial videos that promoted the services of the “company”, although – with this demand – the defendants put them in danger, “including multiple leaks at high speed of the forces of the order,” Galeotti added.
For example, in April 2023, traffickers of people allegedly linked to this group fled at high speed, from the Burke Border Patrol Station (New York), after activating a border alarm.
On that occasion, after a persecution, the immigration authorities managed to stop the vehicle and capture a trafficker and seven undocumented, of them three minors.
In another incident, in August 2023, a vehicle that transported foreigners and fled from the border patrol went to Plattsburgh (New York) collided with another at an intersection. The driver and undocumers fled the place but were finally apprehended.
The arrest of Mexicans is part of the operation “We will recover America”, a national initiative of the White House to stop the immigration of undocumented.
