The fifteenth edition of ‘Buen Fin’, a discount commercial strategy similar to Black Friday, will be held this year from November 13 to 17, dates on which promotions will be offered in businesses throughout Mexico to strengthen the national economy, with which it is expected to generate a turnover of more than 200,000 million pesos, the organizers said.

More than 200,000 establishments throughout the country will participate with offers and promotions to boost their economic activity for Christmas shopping and as a national response to Black Friday, which will take place on November 28.

The Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco), the main promoter of the program, estimated through its president, Octavio de la Torre, that the economic benefit will exceed 200,000 million pesos, which will represent an increase of 15.7% compared to the previous year.

This ‘trade festival’ was born 15 years ago as a joint effort between the public and private sectors to promote responsible consumption, formality and economic reactivation, consolidating itself as a key date for Mexican families.

As part of the campaign, the Government will advance the payment of bonuses to public officials, so that they can make their purchases during the weekend before Black Friday.

The authorities highlighted this Monday during the presentation that the ‘Buen Fin’ contributes to taking care of the family economy, strengthening formal businesses and generating employment and confidence in consumption.

“This ‘Buen Fin’ encourages us to choose what is ours. When we buy Mexican products, we all win. The benefits of this project reach companies, consumers and, above all, the country,” said Bárbara Botello, responsible for the national brand plan ‘Made in Mexico’.

For her part, the Undersecretary of Tourism, Nathalie Desplas Puel, pointed out that Mexico will receive around two million tourists during the campaign, of which 153,740 will come exclusively for the commercial event, reaching a hotel occupancy of 77.6%.

The greatest interest is registered in the north of the country, where many American visitors cross the border to take advantage of the pre-Christmas sales.

From the Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Office (Profeco), its head, César Iván Escalante, reported that 1,175 people, 175 care modules and the monitoring of 334 centers will be active to “prevent abuses and guarantee the veracity of the promotions.”

The Association of Personnel Placement Companies indicated that during the ‘Buen Fin’, requests for temporary employment increase between 20 and 30%.

As a novelty this year, Concanaco launched a website and an application that allow you to locate participating businesses and consult nearby promotions, facilitating planned, safe and transparent purchases through filters by category and location.

The organizers announced that in future editions they will seek to reach 300,000 registered businesses and raise the collection goal, especially benefiting micro and small businesses, which during the ‘Buen Fin’ increase their sales by up to 35% of their inventory.
