Tourism promoters in La Paz, Baja California Sur, called on visitors who go to see whales in the destination to be careful to contract the tours with operators that have the corresponding permits.

The operators that offer the tours for the sightings must have the permits granted by the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA), in coordination with the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP) and the Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico (SEMAR). ), the promoters pointed out.

With this, they warned, the safety of both visitors and mammals is guaranteed, protecting their well-being and preservation.

Every winter the gray whale visits the coasts of Baja California Sur, a main and representative attraction of the destination, which attracts nature and ecotourism lovers.

The whale watching season begins at the end of December and lasts until the end of March, during which tourists enjoy a unique natural spectacle by spotting gray whales.

The closest point to this town to go to the sightings is Puerto Chale, which is two hours from the city, according to tourism promoters in La Paz.
