In 2025, the Ministry of the Navy will have a fund of 22,000 million pesos for the railway projects for cargo and passenger transportation launched in the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec during the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, according to the Expenditure Budget proposal presented this Friday.
The Treasury allocated 13,169 million pesos for the comprehensive rehabilitation and improvement, supplies, replacement and modernization of the K line railway from km 0+000 to km 447+286.
It also allocated more than 5,840 million pesos for the comprehensive rehabilitation, improvement, supplies, replacement and modernization of the F line railway track.
It also allocated 3 thousand 48 million pesos for the Correction of Curvature and Slope and Connection to the Port of Salina Cruz on line Z.
One of the tasks of Semar is the promotion and development of the corridor, a project launched with the idea of stopping migration from Central and South America.

The Interoceanic Corridor seeks to generate 550 thousand direct jobs from the launch of the project until 2050, while by 2030 there is a projection of 150 thousand direct jobs in the construction, petrochemical, logistics, port, railway and agro-industrial industries.
The logistics platform is currently being built to generate the conditions for container traffic between the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, which is the attraction for Mexican and foreign businessmen to invest.
