“It also directs us to initiate works in 2025 and to fulfill our unwavering commitment to build the most important sustainable project in the world in Mexico,” he said in the contract signing.

Pacific Mexinol is expected to consolidate as the ultra -low carbon chemical production plant in the world, producing approximately 350,000 metric tons of green methanol and 1.8 million metric tons of blue methanol annually, from the capture of carbon and natural gas.

Those responsible for the project will put it as an example of ultra -low carbon production in large -scale carbon in the COP 30 in Belém, Brazil, next November.

The consortium composed of Samsung E&A CO, Samsung E&A México and Techint Engineering and Construction are responsible for engineering, acquisitions and construction of the plant, which will help the world reduce greenhouse emissions, according to institutional information.

Once in operation in 2029, it will be the ultra -low carbon chemical production plant in the world, according to Transition Industries.

“Actions such as these help build a more prosperous future for our nations and our population,” said Ronald Johnson, US ambassador to Mexico.

The diplomat recalled that the production of green energies in Mexico reflects the commitment of President Donald Trump with engineering and investment, and that he works hand in hand with President Claudia Sheinbaum and her team in shared priorities.

The ambassador declared that the Pacific Mexinol project “is a clear example of what we can achieve when Mexico and the United States work together.”

The project is one of the largest investments in the history of Sinaloa, with an amount greater than 3,300 million pesos, said Rubén Rocha Moya, governor of Sinaloa.

The ruler commented that the methanol plant is a clear sample of how innovation, sustainability and international cooperation go hand in hand to transform the future of the region.

“In the name of the people of Sinaloa I appreciate the confidence placed in our state to house an investment, which will make possible the establishment of a leading industry in Mexico and the world,” he said.

He said that the project, which will produce green methanol from natural gas, is a new horizon for the chemical industry in Mexico.

He pointed out that the north of Sinaloa will contribute to the global energy and sustainable transition objectives of Mexico.
