José Ignacio Zaragoza Ambrosi, president of the Confederation of Associations of Customs Agents of the Mexican Republic (Caaarem), said they will seek to strengthen the TMEC with the proposal of its affiliates.

“The TMEC entered into force in July 2020 and, since then, the customs agents have been direct witnesses to the operation of the commercial chain between the three countries. Now, more than ever, it is time to participate with real proposals, from professional practice,” said the businessman.

He affirmed his commitment to the efficiency of foreign trade and the impulse to higher income for the country, through more effective customs processes that are in line with national interests.

“In July 2026, on the sixth anniversary of the entry into force of the Treaty, the Free Trade Commission will carry out a joint review of its operation, in addition to evaluating any recommendation presented by the parties,” he recalled.

He invited the more than 800 customs agents in the country that represents registering their proposals on foreign trade and the customs operation.

“With this initiative, the Executive Committee of the CAAAREM reaffirms its commitment to self -regulation, the efficiency of foreign trade and the impulse to higher income for the country through more effective and aligned customs processes with national interests,” he said.
