The Federal Consumer Attorney (Profeco) and the Yamaha company alerted this Friday about a failure in the current adapter for digital pianos and electronic batteries, which could generate thermal event, accident or injuries, so more than 6,200 adapters will be changed.

The call affects 6,242 PA-300C model current adapters which generate abnormal heat causing fusion, smoke or ignition derived from red phosphorus content as a retardant in the plug resin “provoking risk of thermal event, accident and injuries”, according to the official statement.

Given this situation, Yamaha announced that the adapter damaged by a new one will change, at no cost.

The company, in addition, asked to “immediately” stop the use of this device and, in case it is connected to a power outlet, the user must disconnect the adapter and take it to any of its service centers to receive the change free of charge.

The adapters, he said, are included in Digital Pianos YDP-162, YDP-S51, P-155, PSR-S550, PSR-S650, PSR-S710, PSR-S750, PSR-S910, PSR-S950, PSR-A200, PSR-OR700, CLP-430 and CVP-601.

The change campaign began on May 8 and will conclude on May 7, 2026.
