The Anagrama publishing house will publish on June 4 ‘stories and rehearsals’ by Charles Bukowski, which includes unpublished texts in Spanish.

‘Stories and essays’, which is published in the ‘Compendium’ collection, is a tour of its literary evolution, since the beginning in anonymity, with its first published stories, until it triumphs in the ‘underground’ circles, jump into literary stardom and become a cult figure.

The volume has the prologue and the chronology of Abel Debritto, specialist in Bukowski, and the translation of Eduardo Iriarte Goñi.

‘Stories and rehearsals’ collects the titles ‘fragments of a stained wine notebook’, ‘absence of the hero’ and, for the first time in Spanish, ‘The mathematics of breath and the route’, a set of stories, rehearsals and interviews that revolve around the writing and the trade of writer and the role he must play in society.

His style, fiercely personal, is strengthened throughout these pages, where the politically incorrect, fanfarería and tenderness shake hands.

In these texts, the reader discovers the incendiary and wild Bukowski, but also the one who, with a notable literary and musical background, reflects on the art of writing with the honesty of which he does not know – does not want – do something else.

Charles Bukowski (1920-1994) was the last ‘damn’ writer of American literature.

In Anagrama, its six novels have been published: ‘Postman’, ‘Factotum’, ‘Women’, ‘The path of the loser’, ‘Hollywood’ and ‘Pulp’; The books of stories ‘writings of an old indecent’, ‘erections, ejaculations, exhibitions’, ‘The fucking machine’, ‘is sought a woman’, ‘music of pipes’, ‘son of Satan’ and ‘the bells do not bend for anyone’.
