Donald Trump’s government plans to terminate a series of chips export restrictions for artificial intelligence (AI) proposed by his predecessor, Democrat Joe Biden, as reported on Wednesday the digital media Axios.
Axios, who quotes a knowledgeable source of the matter, indicates that the Trump government will terminate the restrictions collected in the so -called “on the dissemination of AI” of the Biden government, which has not entered into force, and is working in a replacement.
The Biden Government, in its last days of mandate, proposed some restrictions on the export of AI chips that imposed limits on most countries in their orders for these products, something that was very criticized by the technological sector.
The Commerce Department, responsible for the standard, has already suggested that the Donald Trump government could make changes, since the regulatory framework opened a modifications window of 120 days before its imposition, on May 15.

A spokesman of commerce told US media that include the Bloomberg agency, which advanced the information, that the “Biden AI standard is too complex, too bureaucratic, and would hinder innovation.”
“We will replace it with a much simpler rule that unleashes US innovation and guarantees US domain in AI,” added that spokesman.
The Biden mandate standard is based on previous chips control regulations that have the objective of “protecting national security” of the United States and puts in a blacklist numerous countries, such as Brazil, Israel, Mexico, Portugal, Singapore and Saudi Arabia.
