President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on Thursday that declares that an agreement negotiated by the White House to sell Tiktok operations in the US will meet the requirements established in a 2024 law, said a source of the White House with knowledge of the matter.
Earlier this week, the White House said Trump will declare that an agreement to uninverting the Tiktok operations in the US of its Chinese owner Bytedance will meet the requirements established in a law approved by the Congress that prohibits the application of short videos unless it ends its Chinese property.

Trump has attributed to Tiktok, which has 170 million users in the United States, having helped him win re -election last year, and has 15 million followers in his personal account. The White House also launched an official Tiktok account last month.
Trump has delayed the application of the law until mid -December, amid the efforts to separate Tiktok assets in the US from the global platform, attract US investors and ensure that the new property qualifies as a total divestment, as required in the 2024 law.
Thursday’s executive order is expected to grant an additional extension.
