WASHINGTON.- President Donald Trump said Tuesday during his speech before the joint session of the Congress that, thanks to his tariff policy, the Government of Mexico sent 29 drug traffickers to the US.
“Five nights, the Mexican authorities, for the tariff policy that we imposed on them, gave us 29 of the greatest leaders of the posters in their country, something that had never happened,” Trump said.
Some of the prisoners that were part of this operation, described as “an unprecedented event” and “within the framework of international cooperation agreements,” were Rafael Caro Quintero, the Capo of the Guadalajara cartel, as well as two leaders of Los Zetas, Miguel Ángel and Omar Treviño Morales.
“They want to make us happy,” said the president.
“We have achieved more in 43 days than others in eight years”
Donald Trump said he has achieved more in the 43 days of his second term than other presidents in eight years.
“We have achieved more in 43 days than most administrations achieve in 4 or 8 years, and we are barely starting,” said the president, who since returned to power on January 20 has signed a number of unprecedented executive orders.

Trump also argued that he has achieved the return of the “pride” and the “trust” of the United States: “the American dream is unstoppable,” he claimed.
“I have ordered that for each new regulation, 10 old regulations are eliminated, as I did in my very successful first mandate and now in this,” he said.
Trump celebrated his decision to “return” federal workers to his offices, and declared: “either they are presented in person or will be fired,” he said.
Among other things, the order that “renames” the Gulf of Mexico as a Gulf of America, a decision for which the entrance to the Oval house to the media that have not followed their mandate, highlighted.

“Two days ago, I signed an order that makes English the official language of the United States of America,” he recalled.
And he continued listing some orders with which, he said, “he has ended the censorship of the government and has regained freedom of expression in the US.”
