William Tell.
An attempt to turn the story of the Swiss folk hero into a historical epic, which ends rather blandly. There is a lot of build-up in the The moment — you know the one, where Tell (Claes Bang) shoots an apple at his son’s head — but when that ends, so does the movie’s momentum. Despite being a film full of blood and grime, it’s all very clean, following a strict formula of brave heroes, cartoonish villains, rousing speeches, and fights that, like an arrow hitting an apple, is no doubt.
