Brussels Jul 16 (EFE) .- The Tomorrowland organizers announced their intention to maintain their 2025 edition, despite the fire that destroyed on Wednesday the main scenario of the famous electronic music festival two days after its inauguration.

“Tomorrowland will be held as usual,” the festival announced in a message on social networks, while on its website confirmed that “no one was injured during the incident.”

“Due to a serious incident and fire on the main stage of Tomorrowland, our beloved main scenario has been seriously damaged,” said the organizers who also took advantage of to announce that the Festival campsite will open this Thursday, July 17, as planned, to welcome all visitors.

Likewise, all the activities scheduled in Brussels and Antwerp, which will be carried out as planned, “added the organizers, which now focus” to find solutions for the inauguration of Friday and for the activities of the next weekend, of which they will give “information detailed as soon as possible.”

Thousands of people from all over the world have acquired tickets for this international renowned festival, which has intact another fifteen scenarios, and the first chartered flights for the transport of attendees have already landed in Belgium, according to the local press.

Driven by strong winds, the fire on the main stage spread rapidly and destroyed everything in the huge structure, whose construction took more than fifty days.

The cause is still unknown, but according to several media, shortly before fireworks had been heard, and some sources suggest an incident related to the tests of the cannons used to launch these pyrotechnic artifacts. However, neither the organization nor the Fire Department confirmed this hypothesis at the moment.

Tonight, the Prosecutor’s Office of Antwerp asked the investigation judge to investigate the fire on the main stage of the Tomorrowland Festival.

The incident was classified as a fire, waiting for the experts to determine the exact cause of the event that tries to establish the judicial investigation.

The videos shared on social networks and the photographs published in the local press late in the afternoon showed large flares emerging from the left side of the stage and a thick gray smoke in the surrounding area of the festival held in the town of Boom.

The event is scheduled to take place from July 18 to 20 and from July 25 to 27 in Boom, in the province of Antwerp, in the Flanders region.

This year he advertised a new setting simulating a dream world of ice in its 16 scenarios for which it is announced that they pass, according to programming, Martin Garrix, considered one of the biggest stars of dance music; Solomun, also known as the King of the ‘aftersty’, or the well -known David Guetta, among many other artists of a long list.

Tomorrowland is celebrated annually in Boom, in multiple scenarios with decorations that simulate a world of magic and fantasy, and receives more than 400,000 people in each of its editions.

Every year, all its tickets are exhausted before even announcing the poster, with prices that range from 310 euros to 535 euros, and that without counting the campsite or the plane.

Created in 2005 by the Beers brothers, who are still the only owners of their project through their company We Are One World, Tomorrowland created the concept of festival as a “total experience” with the maximum comfort.

Their businesses are multiple: travel agency (every year, almost 120 flights from Brussels Airlines are freak out to transport those attending the festival), YouTube channel, producer or artistic representation. But its main activity remains the organization of the festival in Boom, as well as its subsidiaries in Alpe d’Huez (France) in March and in Brazil in October.

In 2024, the company’s billing was about 140 million euros, according to the newspaper Le Soir.

In 2017 an event similar to this Wednesday happened when the main stage of Tomorrowland caught fire in Barcelona and had to be evacuated more than 20,000 people.
