Toyota Motor explores the development of a small drone system mainly to support the operations of its vehicles on unpaved roads and trails.
The Japanese car manufacturer said in a presentation before the Federal Aviation Administration that the potential system aims to improve the knowledge of the situation in places where it is not safe to get out of the vehicle.
“By providing the driver views of the environment, including potential hazards around and under the vehicle, drivers can plan safer routes and improve vehicle operations,” says Toyota’s letter.
