The Tropical Narda storm intensifies while maintaining the Pacific coast, so it will maintain rains in the south and west of the country, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported.

In its most recent report, at 09:00 local time (15:00 GMT), the SMN indicated that the Narda center was located 260 kilometers (km) south-southwest of Zihuatanejo, warrior and 395 km south-southeast of Manzanillo, Colima.

The meteor, which on Tuesday could become a category 1 hurricane, presents maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (km/h), streaks of 100 km/Hy travels to the west-northwest at a speed of 20 km/h.

The organism added that the cloud bands of the cyclone cause heavy rains (from 75 to 150 millimeters (mm)) in the east and the coast of Guerrero, in the west of Michoacán, on the coast of Colima and in the southwest of Jalisco.

Likewise, winds of 30 to 40 km/h are foreseen with streaks of 50 to 70 km/h on the coast of Guerrero and Michoacán; In addition to winds of 20 to 30 km/h with gusts of 40 to 60 km/h in coasts of Jalisco and Colima, as well as waves of 2.5 to 3.5 meters high on the coast of Michoacán and Guerrero, extending to the coast of Colima and Jalisco.

The agency warned that rainfall could generate landslides, increase in river and stream levels, as well as overflows and floods in low areas, and that the planned winds could tear down trees and advertisements.

Given the situation, the authorities urged the population to extreme precautions for the wind and the high waves and to attend the recommendations issued by the National Civil Protection System.

Mexico foresees up to 20 cyclones with name in the Pacific during the current season, of which between four and six could reach categories 3, 4 or even 5.

So far 12 storms have been formed in the Mexican Pacific: Alvin, Barbara, Cosme, Dalila, Erick, Flossie, Gil, Henriette, Ivo, Juliette, Lorena and Kiko.

The last hurricane registered in the country was Erick, who touched land in southern Mexico on June 19 as hurricane category 3 and caused damage mainly in Oaxaca and Guerrero, leaving the death of a minor and diverse affectations in the electrical infrastructure, homes and the fall of trees.
