Los Angeles, (EFE) .- Donald Trump’s government sent another 2,000 soldiers of the California National Guard on Los Angeles on Monday, which adds about 5,000 troops that will be deployed in the city, which intensifies tensions with Governor Gavin Newsom and civil rights defenders.
It was the same Newsom that communicated in a message on his social networks about sending the other 2,000 soldiers, after being informed by the White House.
Trump had announced last Saturday the deployment of 2,000 members of the California National Guard, without counting on the approval of the state governor, who is the one who has these troops, which is the first time in 60 years that the US Executive is imposed in this way.
California prosecutor, Rob Bonta, filed a lawsuit against the Trump government claiming that the measure taken by the administration “abused the authority of the federal government and violated the tenth amendment” of the Constitution.

Newsom has denounced that the first soldiers currently deployed in Los Angeles are facing an overcrowding situation.
“Without food or water. Only about 300 are deployed; the rest is inactive, unused, in federal buildings without orders,” denounced the Democratic governor in an X message.
He added that the measure taken by the White House “is not about public security” but about “flattering the ego” of the US president. “This is reckless. Useless. And disrespect for our troops,” insisted the Democrat.
A battalion of the American Marines Corps will be added to the four thousand soldiers of the National Guard of California under the argument of containing protests against recent migratory raids, according to the Department of Defense.

“Approximately 700 Marine Infants” will be integrated with the forces of the National Guard “that are protecting federal staff and property in the Metropolitan Area of Los Angeles,” explains the Pentagon in a statement.
The soldiers will be assigned to take care of the federal buildings of the city. Currently only dozens of soldiers are assigned taking care of the federal complex of the center of Los Angeles, which includes the Immigrant Detention Center.
The Immigration and Citizenship Service (USCIS) and the Immigration Courts located in the Federal Complex suspended the attention to the public, while the fourth day of demonstrations passed, this one less crowded on Monday and until the afternoon without incident.
