New York, (EFE) .- The Secretary of Education of the United States, Linda McMahon, said the government will not grant new subsidies to Harvard University, claiming that the prestigious institution had “mocked” the country’s higher education system.
In a letter published on the social network X on Monday, McMahon said that the university had “breached its legal obligations, its ethical and fiduciary duties, its responsibilities for transparency and any hint of academic rigor.”
In this letter, addressed to the president of Harvard, Alan Garber, McMahon points out that the university has “mocked the United States Higher Education System”, so Harvard “will cease to be an institution financed with public funds.”
McMahon added that Harvard can resort to its fund of 53,000 million dollars and its wealthy alumni.
