The government of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, revoked the capacity of Harvard University to register international students and will force existing students to transfer to other schools or lose their legal status, the Department of National Security said Thursday.
The Secretary of National Security, Kristi Noem, ordered the department to end the certification of the Student and Exchange Visitors of Harvard University, the portfolio said in a statement.
The measure is known after Harvard refused to provide information required by Noem about some foreign student visas that attend the educational center, the department said.
“This administration is demanding responsibilities to Harvard for promoting violence, anti -Semitism and coordination with the Chinese Communist Party on its campus,” said Noem.

“It is a privilege, not a right, for universities enrolled to foreign students and benefit from their highest registration payments to help fill their multimillion -dollar endowments,” he added.
Harvard said that it is a retaliation action that threatens to seriously harm the university.
“The action of the government is illegal. We are fully committed to maintaining Harvard’s ability to welcome international students and academics, who come from more than 140 countries and enrich the university – this country – in a immeasurable way,” said the university in a statement.
The measure marks a significant escalation of the Trump administration campaign against the elitist University of the Ivy League in Cambridge, in the state of Massachusetts, which has emerged as one of the most prominent institutional objectives of the president.
