The president of the United States, Donald Trump, joked Monday that he would “love” compete with former president Barack Obama for a third mandate, a possibility prohibited by the Constitution.
Trump, who has spoken several times about the possibility of looking for another mandate, was asked by a journalist about the hypothetical case that the Democrats present as their opponent to Obama, who has already fulfilled two periods as president.
“I would love it. It would be a good idea. I would like it,” he replied with a smile during a press appearance in the oval office.
The Republican said that people ask him to appear for a third mandate and that they have told him that “there is a way to do it,” although he said that “he has not considered” running.

Trump’s comments arrive after this weekend declared in an interview with the NBC chain that there are “methods” to run for a third mandate.
The twelfth amendment of the United States Constitution, ratified in 1951, establishes that no person can be elected by the position of President “more than twice.”
A constitutional reform would require the two -third vote of the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as the ratification of after fourths of the 50 states that make up the country.
