The president of the United States, Donald Trump, signed on Monday an executive order that forces Washington DC and other cities to eliminate the bail of without cash for suspicious arrested, and threatened that he will withdraw federal funds to the localities that oppose.

“We are putting an end,” Trump said on the bond without cash, and instructed the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, to identify jurisdictions of the country who have policies of this type to “revoke federal subsidies.”

Within this same order, Trump also asks the police authorities to work to ensure that the people arrested in the city are put into federal custody “to the maximum measure allowed by law”, according to the order reviewed by EFE.

The measure announced by the president focuses, mainly, in the capital of the country that has a bond without payment since 1992 and that allows judges to free people without paying for their freedom if they consider that the crimes committed do not entail a significant risk.

The new executive order arrives 15 days after the Republican took federal control of the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department, arguing that the crime is “out of control” and challenging the official figures that ensure that the capital presents the lower homicide index in the last three decades.

In addition, the president signed on Monday another executive order for protesters to burn a US flag are sent to prison for a year.

Some 2,000 National Guard agents have been displaced in the streets of Washington DC and since last Friday the president assured that these will soon be able to patrol the streets with their service weapons.

Trump has repeatedly threatened other cities governed by Democrats with federalizing the public security of these places, focusing their attention especially in Chicago and Los Angeles.
