The president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced Monday that he will end “immediately” to the protection of the secret service assigned to the two children of the former American ex-president Joe Biden (2021-2025), Hunter and Ashley Biden.

Trump communicated his decision in a message on his social Truth network, a measure that adds to the withdrawal of protection to other figures such as the immunologist Anthony Fauci, who directed the US response to the Covid-19 Pandemia, and the former chief of the Joint Staff Mark Milley.

“Hunter Biden has had protection of the secret service for a prolonged period, all paid by the US taxpayer,” Trump complained.

The president criticized that, according to him, Hunter Biden had 18 agents assigned to his safety during his stay in South Africa this week, while Ashley Biden had 13.

Only former presidents and their spouses receive life protection from the Secret Service, while protection for other relatives usually ends when they leave office.

Biden, however, had extended in January, just before giving power to Trump, protection for their two children for six more months, until July.

Hunter Biden, sentenced last year for fiscal and possession of weapons, has been subject to intense pressure and threats by the president himself and his followers.

Before leaving office, Biden granted him an pardon, breaking his previous promise of not interfering with his son’s legal problems.
