The president of the United States, Donald Trump, redoubled his attacks on the CBS television on Wednesday and the “60 minute” program, whom he demanded for an interview with his electoral opponent, former Vice President Kamala Harris, while harshly criticized the coverage of The New York Times on the legal process and his “probable illegal behavior”.

Trump described as “true success” the case against “60 minutes”, CBS and the company that owns the channel, Paramount, in a long publication in its social truth network.

The president filed the demand last October for an interview with the emblematic program to Harris in which the Republican says that “60 minute” tried to show the Democratic candidate in a positive way.

“They scammed the American people at levels never seen in the political sphere,” Trump reiterated in Truth Social.

Paramount has said that demand, which claims about 20,000 million dollars, is an affront to the first amendment of the Constitution that protects freedom of expression.

The US president also whipped the coverage of the “failed” New York Times, which according to expert analysis said that “the case lacks foundation.”

“In short, what” 60 minute “and its corporate owners have committed is one of the most atrocious illegalities in the history of broadcasting. (…) They have to pay a price, and the Times should also assume responsibility for their probable illegal behavior,” he said.

Trump had already suggested that CBS must lose its issuance license or is fined by the federal telecommunications regulator for a “60 minute” segment critical of the position of its administration towards Greenland and Ukraine.
