Donald Trump on Wednesday morning blasted ABC News moderators for what he called a “fake” debate against Republican presidential candidate Kamala Harris, and said government regulators should revoke the “horrible” network’s “license” for doing so. “
But Trump said during an interview on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” during Tuesday night’s debate, “We did a great job.”
“It was one of my best debates, one of my best debates,” Trump said, though he was concerned that debate moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis “corrected” him too often during the meeting with Harris.
Trump said he felt the debate was a struggle against three opponents: Harris and two ABC News moderators.
Trump also dismissed pop star Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Democratic candidate Harris, which Swift announced moments after the debate.
“I’m not a fan of Taylor Swift … she’s probably going to pay for it in the market,” Trump said.
Harris’ campaign had a very different take on the debate, bragging about its performance against Trump.
“Today was a good day,” the vice president told supporters Tuesday evening.
Harris’ campaign has also called for a second debate against Trump in October.
Asked about that call by “Fox and Friends” on Wednesday, Trump replied, “Well, I’d be less inclined, because we had a great night.”
“We won the debate,” he said. “We had a terrible, terrible network.”
