President Donald Trump claimed to “not know” who the Nobel Peace Prize winner, María Corina Machado, is, a week after thanking the winner for having dedicated the award to him, although he assured that she was very generous.
“Someone got it. She’s a very kind woman, very kind. I don’t know who she is, but she was very generous,” Trump said during a meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
The American president, who aspired to the Nobel Peace Prize, complained that, despite having “put an end to eight conflicts,” the award committee did not take him into account.

Trump often claims that he has resolved the conflicts in Gaza, Cambodia-Thailand, Kosovo-Serbia, Democratic Republic of the Congo-Rwanda, Pakistan-India, Israel-Iran, Egypt-Ethiopia and Armenia-Azerbaijan.
“Look at all the wars we ended. And every time they say: ‘If you solve the next one, you will win the Nobel Prize.’ I didn’t receive a Nobel Prize,” the American president complained again today.

Trump then thanked Machado. “The person who received the Nobel Prize today called me and said, ‘I’m accepting this in your honor because you really deserved it.’ It was a very kind thing on his part,” he insisted in an appearance at the White House.
