President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the United States will “take control” of the Gaza Strip in the long term and that he will carry out his reurbing, with the construction of new homes, after resetting the Palestinians in other places.
“The United States will take control of the Gaza Strip and we will do a great job there,” Trump said at a press conference with Israel’s prime minister, Benjamín Netanyahu.
“It will be our responsibility to dismantle all unleashed bombs, level the land, get rid of destroyed buildings and pave the area to boost economic development that generates an unlimited amount of jobs and homes for the population,” he added.
Asked about what form that occupation would have and if it would be permanent, Trump responded affirmatively and said he contemplates a “long -term property position” on the Gaza Strip.
He also assured that he has already talked about this idea with other parts, although he did not specify which, and said that “they love the idea that the United States possesses that part of the earth.”

Trump considered that this re -urbanization of the Gaza Strip, that the Palestinians claim as part of a future state together with the East Bank and Jerusalem, “it could be the beginning of a broader and more durable peace that ends the end of all to the spill of blood and violence ”.
Trump’s proposal would make it difficult to create a future Palestinian state. Asked about it and about whether it remains committed to the “solution of two states”, he avoided ruling and reiterated the need for the population of Gaza to be resetting in other countries, while the United States takes control of the area.
Only a few hours ago, at a meeting in the Oval Office with Netanyahu, Trump had already mentioned before the media the possibility of a “permanent” resettlement of the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip in other countries, by qualifying the enclave of “area of“ area of demolition”.
Since his return to power on January 20, Trump has reiterated this proposal several times and insisted that Jordan and Egypt should accept more Palestinian refugees from Gaza, an idea rejected by those two countries, as well as by the United Arab Emirates , Catar, Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian authority and the Arab League.
This is, however, the first time Trump raises resettlement as a permanent solution, instead of temporary, and argues that the United States should take control of the area.
