“There will be a meeting in Munich. Russia will be there with our people. By the way, Ukraine is also invited. I am not sure who will be there of each country, but there will be high -level people from Russia, Ukraine and the United States, ”he said in the Oval Office.
On Friday, the Munich Security Conference takes place, which starts marked by the prospects for prompt peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, promoted by the US and in which Europe requires having a voice on the table.
The appointment will bring together more than 60 heads of state and government, including the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, and the US vice president, JD Vance. Russia has not been officially invited.
This Wednesday, Trump spoke on the phone with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and, in a message in Truth Social, he announced that both countries had reached an agreement to initiate “immediate negotiations” with the aim of ending the war in Ukraine . That same day he said that Ukraine’s aspiration to be part of NATO is not “practice” and considered “unlikely” that the country manages to recover all the territory that Russia has taken from 2014, which includes the peninsula of Crimea.
