Washington, (EFE) .- The president of the United States, Donald Trump, signed on Thursday an executive order that will facilitate the states and cities to remove the homeless people from the streets and send them to treatment centers, even if they have not given their consent.
The US president explained in the order that his administration has adopted a new approach to deal with the problem of non -roof “focused on public security”.
The measure asks the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, to take legal actions to revoke the judicial precedents and consent decrees that limit the ability of local and state governments to transfer people who live in the streets and camps to treatment centers.
It also instructs the prosecutor to provide assistance to state and local governments that allow civil internment and the appropriate treatment of people with mental illnesses who represent a danger to others or who live in the street and cannot take care of themselves.

“The transfer of homeless people to long -stay institutions so that they receive human treatment through the proper use of civil internment will restore public order,” reads the order.
The regulations also require the departments of Justice, Health and Human Services, Housing and Transportation to prioritize federal subsidies for states and cities that “enforce prohibitions” on the open consumption of illicit drugs, camp in urban areas and merode.
Today’s measure is still taken last March when the US president ordered the national parks service to remove the camps of homeless people and graffiti in federal lands.
The number of people (274,224) who lived in the streets of the United States in a single night during 2024 was the highest ever registered in the country, according to data cited by the White House in order.
