The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, will call for a “common sense revolution” during his inauguration speech, the Wall Street Journal said on Monday, basing its information on excerpts from his prepared speech.
“I return to the presidency confident and optimistic that we are at the beginning of an exciting new era of national success. A tide of change sweeps the country. “My message to Americans today is that it is time for us to act once again with courage, vigor and the vitality of the greatest civilization in history,” Trump is expected to say, according to comments shared with the WSJ.
Trump will be sworn in as president of the United States this Monday, beginning his second term and capping one of the most astonishing political comebacks in American history.
Don’t miss: Donald Trump, the revenant
More than 100 orders from Trump are expected during his inauguration
He will be sworn in before the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, John Roberts, at 17:00 GMT. It was originally going to take place in front of the United States Capitol, but will now be held inside the Congressional complex due to the intense cold.
Trump plans to issue a flurry of executive orders after being sworn in as president on Monday to put his stamp on his new administration, on issues ranging from energy to immigration.
Two sources familiar with the planning said more than 100 such orders and directives could be issued starting on the first day in what is known internally as a “shock and awe” effort.
