Washington (EFE) .- The United States National Secretary of the United States, Kristi Noem, revealed that in the meeting with President Claudia Sheinbaum asked to share biometric data with US authorities and reinforce the border with Guatemala.

“I gave a list of things that President Trump would love to see. And it was exceptional. It was supposed to be a half -hour meeting and we met for almost two hours. It was very productive,” Noem explained in an interview with the Fox News chain.

The Secretary of National Security requested Sheinbaum, who deployed 10,000 national guard members on the border with the United States, who also “ensures her southern border with Guatemala.”

Noem explained that he also asked Sheinbaum to share biometric data with the United States and the president replied that she is “willing to talk about that, although in her country she would be a bit controversial.”

The American official also pointed out the need to scan the shipments that arrive in the United States by air and be able to verify with Mexico criminal records.

“She (Sheinbaum) is making an effort in good faith. But President Trump is clear. He doesn’t want people to speak. He wants to see actions,” Noem said.

Trump has threatened to impose 25% tariffs on all products in Mexico and Canada if fentanyl traffic that enters the United States is not reduced.

Sheinbaum said Monday at a press conference that he spoke with Noem to coordinate and collaborate, but stressed that there is no “subordination” by Mexico.
