Exhibitions that you will not want to lose in CDMX

The Impressionist Revolution: From Monet to Matisse

This exhibition is intended to explore the evolution of impressionism, from its emergence to its impact in the first decades of the twentieth century.

The works presented in the exhibition seek to show how the impressionists broke with the traditions of their time, both in the themes and techniques they addressed, and in the way they showed their art, thus redefining the concept of avant -garde art.

Key figures such as Monet, Edgar Degas and Berthe Morisot are some of the protagonists, so in the framework of the 150th anniversary of the first impressionist exhibition, this exhibition invites you to rediscover these artists.

  • Where: Museum of the Palace of Fine Arts.

All O’Gorman

This exhibition is given as a tribute to the life and work of the architect and artist Juan O’Gorman, known for iconic projects such as the Anahuacalli Museum and the mural of the Central Library of the UNAM.

The exhibition brings together one of the most important collections of its early work, with national and academic archives material, as well as links with the FAD-UNAM in Taxco and the Directorate of Culture of Pátzcuaro.

Through paintings, sculptures, sketches and models, the exhibition offers a complete vision of O’Gorman’s creative genius and his contribution to the art of the twentieth century.

The tour begins with paintings and drawings of the late fifties, and concludes with the works that produced shortly before his death. Printed documents, photographs and personal objects are also included, such as their newspapers in which he says he began drawing in 1943.
