This weekend you will not want to miss the celebration for International Museum Day, as well as a free Mexican film projection and even a new exhibition in the Munal.

Museum Fair of the Historic Center

As part of the International Museum Day, the CDMX will carry out this free event where you can enjoy a series of cultural enclosures, where workshops, exhibitions, live music and playful activities will also be held.

With more than 30 museums being participants in this third edition that will also be composed of eight routes that will allow the attendees to explore different enclosures in the city center. In addition, there will be a special museum night that will take place on Sunday.

Some of the museums that enter this edition are: the National Museum of Art, the Museum of the Templo Mayor, the Diego Rivera Mural Museum, the Museum of Popular Art and the National Museum of the Revolution.

Gold cinema at Cineteca

The Mexican cinema will have a singular space for the rest of the Friday of this month, as the National Cineteca de las Artes will project tapes that are considered part of the golden age of this art in the country.

As part of her well -known cinema sessions, Cineteca will give free access to these special functions, however, it will have a limited quota, so you can get your access at the enclosure ticket offices at least 15 minutes before the film starts.

The tapes that will be projected will be: “The Forgotten” by Luis Buñuel, “Esconido River” by Emilio Fernández and “A family of so many” by Alejandro Galindo.

The ALEPH 2025

The Art and Science Festival promoted by UNAM, in its 2025 edition, and will address the theme “Networks”, will seek an interpretation of social and quantum connections, through more than 80 activities in 20 different headquarters, it will also feature 168 guests from various countries.

The program includes immersive facilities, conferences, exhibitions and interdisciplinary shows, where an experimental concert with real -time music through AI stands out.

Exhibitions that you will not want to lose in CDMX

Ideal territory: José María Velasco, perspectives of an era

This new permanent exhibition is a fundamental sample to understand the development of the Mexican landscape in the art of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This exhibition brings together more than 100 works, including paintings, drawings, lithographs, chromolithographies and photographs, made between the 1830s and 1920s.

The focusing of this expo is precisely the artist José María Velasco, who is considered one of the best landscapes in Mexico, however, we can also find works by more than 25 Mexican and foreigners artists.

Gabriel Orozco: National Polytechnic

Gabriel Orozco, a contemporary artist, will present an exhibition with 300 of his works this weekend, and with this, marks his return to CDMX to portray the connections between the everyday, nature and human creativity.

With these pieces, Orozco covers up to three decades of his career as an artist so that the public manages to know their obsessions and interests that have inspired him to create works such as “Four Bicycles”, “Dark Wave”, “The DS” and many others.

Premieres that arrive at theaters this weekend

Final destination: Blood ties

The final destination saga returns to theaters, now by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein in the directors chair for this sixth delivery.

The story will now focus on Stefani Reyes, a young woman tormented by visions of an accident that occurred in the 60s, but will soon discover that these nightmares are linked to her grandmother Iris, who managed to deceive death decades ago.

The film has the performances of Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Brec Bassinger and the return of Tony Todd such as William Bludworth, in his last appearance after his death in 2024.
