The head of the US cybersecurity agency, Jen Easterly, said Monday that her department has seen no evidence of any activity that could directly affect the outcome of the election, despite a rise in misinformation.
He added that the 2024 election has faced an “unprecedented amount of disinformation” from foreign adversaries.
US agencies have warned that Russia and others intend to stoke divisive narratives ahead of the election, a charge Russia has denied.

Disinformation could continue for weeks and months after elections
Last week, Georgia state officials described a fake video circulating online of a Haitian immigrant with multiple Georgia IDs who claims to have voted multiple times as “targeted disinformation.” In a statement, senior US intelligence officials linked the video to Russia.
A senior official at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said there was a high probability that foreign disinformation efforts will continue in the weeks and months following the election until January 6.
Easterly said that “election infrastructure has never been more secure and the electoral community has never been better prepared to deliver safe, free and fair elections.”
