The United States is ordering its diplomatic missions that resume the applications of student visas, but now it is demanding that applicants make public their profiles in social networks for research purposes, a state department official said on Wednesday.

Donald Trump’s government ordered May 27 to their missions abroad to stop programming new appointments for student visas applicants and exchange visitors, while the State Department was preparing to expand the investigation of foreign students on social networks.

A source from the State Department, which spoke on condition of anonymity, said on Wednesday that under the new guidelines, consular officials will carry out a “thorough and thorough research” of all applicants and visitors of applicants.

“To facilitate this research, all non -immigrant visa applicants F, M and J will be asked to adjust the privacy settings of all their profiles in social networks to ‘public’. The offices can resume the programming of visa requests F, M and J,” said the official.

Rubio has said that he has revoked the visas of hundreds, perhaps thousands of people, including students, because they got involved in activities that, according to him, went against the priorities of the foreign policy of the United States.

These activities include support for the Palestinians and the criticism of Israel’s behavior in Gaza’s War.
