The U.S. safety regulator said Monday it has closed an investigation into an estimated 411,315 Ford pickup trucks for a loss of engine power.

In 2022, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) had opened its investigation into certain Ford Bronco vehicles equipped with 2.7L EcoBoost engines over concerns of a defective valve train.

Ford also said it would provide extended warranty coverage

The probe was later expanded to include other models such as the Edge, F-150 and Explorer equipped with the same engine.

Earlier this year, Ford filed a recall request to test vehicles equipped with the impacted engine to determine if an engine replacement was necessary.

Ford also said it would provide extended warranty coverage on the vehicles for a period of 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.
