The Federal United States Commerce (FTC) demanded Uber Technologies, accusing her of discharging some Uber One subscribers without her knowledge and making deceptive statements about the service.

The service costs $ 9.99 per month and offers discounts on rates associated with Uber applications for food collection and delivery.

Uber said false that users would save about $ 25 per month through the service, and cheated users about how easy it was to cancel, said the regulator in the demand presented in San Francisco.

“The Americans are tired of registering them in unwanted subscriptions that seem impossible to cancel,” said FTC president Andrew Ferguson.

“Trump-Vance FTC is counteratacious on behalf of the American people,” he said.

Noah Edwardsen, Uber spokesman, said the company does not register or charge customers without their consent.

“We are disappointed that the FTC has decided to move forward with this action, but we trust that the courts will coincide with what we already know: Uber One’s high and low processes are clear, simple and conform to the letter and spirit of the law,” he said.

Uber has had problems with the regulator several times in the past.

In 2017, the passenger transport company resolved the FTC accusations of having made deceptive statements about privacy and data safety.

The following year, he agreed to pay 20 million dollars to resolve the accusations of the FTC of having exaggerated the potential profits when hiring drivers.

The company avoided criminal charges in 2022 in an agreement in which it admitted that its employees had not notified the regulator on a 2016 data violation that affected 57 million passengers and drivers.
