Venezuela requires the US

Venezuela demanded this Thursday to the US what qualifies as a “warrior” position, after denouncing an “illegal forage of combat aircraft” of the North American country 75 kilometers from its coasts, in the Caribbean Sea, a fact that, he announced, will denounce before the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, and other instances such as CELAC.

“Venezuela demands that the Secretary of War of the United States, Pete Hegseth, who immediately ceases in his reckless, adventurer and warrior position, who intends to undermine the Peace Zone of Latin America and the Caribbean and endangers regional stability,” said Nicolás Maduro’s executive in a statement.

The Chavista administration “vigorously rejected the incursion” of those aircraft that, he said, were detected this October 2 “within the flight information region (FIR) of Maiquetía”, which, in addition, was identified by the Comprehensive Aerospace Defense Command (Codai).

In Caracas, this maneuver, also sighted by a “Colombian airline”, represents “a provocation that threatens national sovereignty and contravenes the norms of international law and the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.”

“This serious report is added to other previously registered illegal incursions and already denounced by the Bolivarian Government, which configures a harassment pattern that cannot be tolerated,” says the text signed by the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Relations.

In that sense, Venezuela said that “it will not accept intimidations or aggressions of any foreign power” and that “will fully exercise its right to the defense of national sovereignty, in accordance with international law.”

“The Bolivarian National Armed Forces will remain on permanent alert with its integrated aerospace defense system,” he said.

In addition, he said that the incident will denounce before the UN, the Security Council, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), in order, he said, that “the necessary measures that prevent the repetition of these illegal and dangerous actions” are adopted.

Previously, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, had denounced the “military harassment” by “combat planes” near the Venezuelan coasts.

According to the official, the presence of “more than five vectors” was detected with “400 knots flight characteristics and flying at a height of 35,000 feet.”

The US has deployed at least eight warships in the region and a quick nuclear propulsion attack submarine, as well as more than 4,500 soldiers, as part of an operation in the Caribbean Sea. He has also sent last generation fighters F-35b to Puerto Rico.

Venezuela denounces this mobilization as a threat against him and as part of a plan to promote a “regime change” in the country.
