The Dutch quadruple world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) set the best time this Friday in the second free practice for the Mexico City Grand Prix, the twentieth of the Formula One World Championship, which is held at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in the Mexican capital.

In his best lap, Verstappen covered the 4,304 meters of the Mexican track in one minute, 17 seconds and 392 thousandths, 153 less than the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and 174 ahead of the young Italian debutant Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), who set the third time, like the previous ones, with the soft tire.

The Australian Oscar Piastri (McLaren), leader of the World Championship, set the twelfth time of the session, 840 thousandths behind Verstappen; of which his teammate the English Lando Norris -second in the World Cup, 14 points away- was left behind, also with soft tires, 251 points behind, with the fourth time. In a rehearsal in which the best times of the day were set.

Free practice will be completed this Saturday, hours before qualifying; who will order the starting line-up for the Sunday race. Planned for 71 laps, to complete a route of 305 and a half kilometers.
