Walmart de México (Walmex) reported Thursday that their profits increased 1.4% per year during the fourth quarter, slightly below the analysts’ forecasts, since their general expenses rose 15%.
Walmex, with operations also in Central America, reported a net profit of 15.2 billion pesos (728 million dollars) compared to 14,996 million pesos to the October-December 2023 period.
Analysts surveyed by LSE had predicted a quarterly gain of about 16,550 million pesos.
The net sales of the retailer, unity of the American Walmart, rose 8.3% per year to 272,881 million pesos, with an increase of 5.7% of its total turnover in Mexico and 4.6% in Central America.
Its Ebitda grew 2.5% to 27,383 million pesos.
